How to sit properly at your PC for CS2: ergonomics
How to set up your desk for CS2: desk and chair height, monitor position, mouse and arm placement — to play longer without pain and fatigue.
A comfortable posture affects both accuracy and health. With a bad setup your arm tires faster and your aim gets worse by the end of the evening.
🪑 Chair and desk
Feet flat on the floor, knees bent at roughly a right angle.
Elbows rest on the desk or armrests, shoulders relaxed.
Back against the chair; do not hunch over the keyboard.
🖥️ Monitor
The top of the screen roughly at eye level or slightly below.
About an arm's length away.
You should see the whole screen without turning your head.
🖱️ Mouse and keyboard
Move the mouse with your whole arm from the elbow, especially at low sensitivity.
Do not rest your wrist on the desk edge — that causes pain.
You can angle the keyboard slightly so your WASD hand is not bent.
⏱️ Breaks
Take a 5–10 minute break every 1–2 hours.
Stretch your wrists, fingers and shoulders.
⚠️ If it hurts
Wrist pain or numb fingers are a signal to stop. If it does not go away, see a doctor rather than playing through the pain.
