Types of peeks in CS2: wide swing, jiggle and shoulder peek
How to peek corners properly in CS2: wide swings, jiggle peeks, shoulder peeks and when to use each.
A peek means stepping out of cover to see or shoot an enemy. The right peek decides who shoots first.
🔧 Wide swing
Move far out from the corner in one quick motion instead of edging out.
An enemy holding a tight angle does not have time to adjust.
Use it when you are ready for a duel and want to surprise the enemy.
📌 Jiggle peek
A short left-right movement at the edge of cover: out and right back in.
The goal is to get info or bait an AWP shot without exposing yourself.
You do not shoot during a jiggle peek.
🎯 Shoulder peek
Show the enemy only your shoulder for a split second.
AWPers often shoot the shoulder and waste a shot — then your team can push.
⚠️ Mistakes
A slow edge peek: the enemy sees you before you see them.
Re-peeking the same angle the same way.
Peeking without counter-strafing — you are moving and cannot shoot accurately.
💡 Tip
Before peeking, think where the enemy is most likely to be and pre-aim that spot.
