How to trade CS2 items with a friend
Step-by-step guide to trading CS2 skins on Steam: sending a trade offer, confirming it and avoiding trade holds.
Steam trading lets you give skins to a friend or swap items for free, without fees.
🔧 How to send a trade offer
Open your friend's Steam profile → More → Invite to Trade (or use their trade URL).
In the window that opens, select the CS2 inventory.
Drag your items into the top part of the window and your friend's items into the bottom part.
Click Ready to trade → Make offer.
📱 Confirmation
Confirm the trade in the Steam mobile app (confirmations tab).
Carefully check the recipient's name, avatar, level and join date.
⏳ Trade holds
If the Steam Guard mobile authenticator has been enabled for less than 15 days, the trade may be held for several days. Keep the mobile authenticator on all the time so trades go through instantly.
🎯 Tips
Trade only with people you trust.
Never agree to hand over items "for checking" or "through a middleman".
An offer to trade outside Steam through a third-party site is almost always a scam.
