A new map in the pool, or one you have never played, is a common reason for losses. This plan helps you get comfortable in a few evenings.

🔧 Day 1. Getting to know it

  • Load the map with bots or alone.

  • Walk every path from T and CT spawn to both sites.

  • Learn the callouts — find a map overview with names and compare as you go.

💨 Day 2. Key grenades

  • Learn 2–3 smokes for executing each site as T.

  • Learn 1–2 molotovs to delay a push as CT.

  • Use practice commands such as sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1.

🎯 Day 3. Positions and timings

  • Find standard defensive positions and check where they can be seen from.

  • Time how many seconds Ts and CTs take to reach key spots. This tells you where you might meet enemies early in the round.

👀 After that

  • Watch a pro match on the map — pay attention to setups and utility.

  • Play a few casual matches or Deathmatch on the map before ranked.

⚠️ Tip

Do not try to learn everything at once. Knowing 3–4 grenades and the main positions already puts you ahead of most players on that map.
