If a key stops working in CS2 — you cannot jump, the console will not open or a mouse side button does nothing — it is usually a bind issue.

🔧 1. Check the bind

  • Open Settings → Keyboard / Mouse and find the action.

  • Check which key is assigned and rebind it if needed.

📌 2. Reset keys

In keyboard settings, click "Reset to default". Save your autoexec.cfg or note your important binds first.

⌨️ 3. Keyboard layout

  • Some keys (such as ~ for the console) behave differently on different layouts. Try switching your input language to English before launching the game.

  • You can assign a different console key in settings.

🖱️ 4. Mouse side buttons

  • Check your mouse software: the buttons may have been remapped to macros or Windows functions (forward/back).

  • Restore them to "Button 4" and "Button 5", then bind them in game.

⚠️ If the key does not work anywhere

Test it in Notepad or another game. If it does not work there either, the keyboard or mouse itself is faulty.
