Blurry image in CS2: how to make it sharper
Why the image in CS2 looks blurry and how to make it sharp: FSR, resolution, scaling, anti-aliasing and driver settings.
If CS2 looks "soft" or blurry, one of the scaling or resolution settings is usually to blame.
🔧 1. FidelityFX Super Resolution
Settings → Video → Advanced → FidelityFX Super Resolution. If it is set to "Performance" or "Balanced", the game renders at a lower resolution and upscales. Set it to "Disabled (Highest Quality)".
📌 2. Native resolution
On 16:9, choose your monitor's native resolution (e.g. 1920×1080 or 2560×1440).
Stretched 4:3 resolutions (1280×960, 1024×768) always look softer — that is normal.
🖥️ 3. Driver scaling
If you play at native resolution and it is still blurry, make sure NVIDIA/AMD settings are not downscaling the image.
🎨 4. Sharpening
NVIDIA: the control panel has an "Image Sharpening" option.
AMD: Radeon Image Sharpening in Adrenalin.
A moderate value makes the image crisper with almost no FPS cost.
⚠️ Monitor
Check the monitor's own settings: sometimes it has smoothing or sharpness modes enabled that ruin the image.
