When CS2 closes without an error, Windows still records what happened. That record tells you whether a driver, memory or the game itself is to blame.

🔧 How to open it

  • Press Win + R, type eventvwr and press Enter.

  • Open Windows Logs → Application.

  • On the right click Filter Current Log and tick "Error".

  • Find the entry matching the time of the crash.

📌 What to look at

  • Faulting application name — should be cs2.exe.

  • Faulting module name — a hint about what broke.

🎯 Common modules and fixes

  • nvwgf2umx.dll, nvlddmkm — NVIDIA driver: do a clean driver reinstall.

  • atidxx64.dll, amdxx64.dll — AMD driver: reinstall the driver.

  • ntdll.dll, KERNELBASE.dll — a general Windows error: verify game files, test RAM, remove overclocks.

  • Modules from recording or overlay software — disable those programs.

🖥️ System log

If the PC restarts or freezes, check Windows Logs → System. A Kernel-Power error usually points to power or overheating problems.

⚠️ Tip

Take a screenshot of the entry — it makes getting help on forums or from support much easier.
