How to download your match demo in CS2

Valve keeps official match replays for a limited time. Download the demo right away if you want to review the game or send it as proof.

🔧 How to download

• In the main menu, open Watch → Your Matches.

• Choose the match from the list.

• Click the "Download" button (download icon).

• Once it is downloaded, a "Watch" button appears.

📌 Where the file is

Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\replays

You can copy or share the file, or open it later with playdemo replays/file_name.

🎯 If there is no download button

• The match is too old — replays are available for about a month, then deleted.

• The mode is not recorded — demos are saved for Premier, Competitive and Wingman. Deathmatch and Casual have none.

• Third-party server — the server records the demo itself; you need to ask its admins.

🖥️ Record your own demo

You can record a demo on any server:

record demo_name
stop

record starts recording, stop ends it. The file appears in the game\csgo folder.

⚠️ Tip

Demos take up space — delete old files from the replays folder if your drive is full.
