Votes in CS2: kick, timeout and surrender
How to start a vote to kick a player, call a tactical timeout or surrender in CS2, how to vote and what the limits are.
In official CS2 matches your team can vote to kick a player, call a tactical timeout and in some cases surrender.
🔧 How to start a vote
Press Esc during the match.
Choose "Call Vote".
Pick the type: kick player, timeout or surrender.
🗳️ How to vote
F1 — yes.
F2 — no.
The vote shows on the left side of the screen.
📌 Kicking a player
Use it against griefers, AFK players and anyone deliberately sabotaging the team.
Do not kick for bad play — it leads to reports and cooldowns.
⏸️ Tactical timeout
A 30-second pause at the start of the next round to discuss tactics.
The number of timeouts per match is limited.
🏳️ Surrender
You can surrender when a teammate has abandoned the match and not returned. If the vote passes, the match ends early, and those who surrendered do not get an abandon cooldown.
⚠️ Tip
Discuss a kick calmly with your team first. Unjustified kicks anger players and often end in a loss.
