How Trust Factor works in CS2 and how to improve it
What Trust Factor is in CS2, what affects it and what actually helps you get matches with decent players and no cheaters.
Trust Factor is a hidden score of your account that matchmaking uses to pick players. The higher it is, the more often you play with other honest players.
📌 What is known
Valve does not publish the exact formula, but it has confirmed that it considers:
in-game behavior — reports from other players;
Steam activity — account age, time in CS and other games, level;
Prime status;
account history — bans and linked accounts.
You cannot see your Trust Factor — there is no number or scale in the game.
🔧 What helps
Avoid reports: do not grief, insult or kick without reason.
Use one account and use it as a normal Steam account.
Enable Steam Guard and add a phone number.
Play with friends who have a good reputation.
Do not use shady programs, "boosters" or third-party cheat tools.
🎯 What hurts it
Mass reports from players in a single match.
Queuing in a lobby with recently banned players.
Abandoning matches and going AFK.
⚠️ Tip
Trust Factor recovers slowly. If your matches got worse, a few weeks of calm play without reports usually fixes it.
