Split attacks in CS2: hitting a site from two sides
What a split is in CS2, why attacking from two directions is more effective, how to sync the hit and which mistakes ruin it.
A split means attacking one site from two or more directions at once. Defenders have to look in different directions and cannot hold every angle.
📌 Why it works
A CT on site cannot watch two entrances at the same time.
Defensive utility gets spent on one direction while you come from the other.
Enemies often end up with their back to one of your groups.
🔧 How to set up a split
Divide the team, for example 3 players on one side and 2 on the other.
Both groups take positions near the site and wait for the call.
The IGL calls it and both groups go at the same time.
Both groups throw utility — the defense is blinded from two sides.
⏱️ Syncing
The key is timing. A 3–5 second gap turns a split into two separate lost entries.
Agree on a signal: "3, 2, 1, go".
⚠️ Mistakes
One group goes early and dies before the other arrives.
Both groups flash the same spot and blind each other.
Waiting too long — CTs have time to rotate.
