Quick weapon switching in CS2: Q, slots and mouse wheel

Switch speed decides many situations: finishing an enemy with your pistol instead of reloading, or pulling out the knife to run.

🔧 Main keys

• 1 — primary weapon (rifle, SMG).

• 2 — pistol.

• 3 — knife.

• 4 — grenades.

• 5 — bomb (T side).

• Q — last used weapon.

📌 The Q command

bind "q" "lastinv"

lastinv toggles between your current and previous weapon. It is the fastest way to swap rifle and pistol.

🎯 When to switch to pistol

• You run dry mid-fight — switching to pistol is faster than reloading.

• After an AWP shot, so you are not defenseless.

🖱️ Mouse wheel

If your wheel is bound to jump, disable weapon switching on the wheel to avoid accidental swaps.

⚠️ Tip

Holding the knife makes you run slightly faster — use it on rotations, but not right before a possible fight.
