How to review your own CS2 matches: a checklist
A simple checklist for reviewing your own CS2 matches from demos: what to watch, which mistakes to look for and how to turn reviews into progress.
Reviewing your matches is the fastest way to improve. But watching a whole demo is pointless — you need to know what to look for.
🔧 Preparation
Download the match demo: Watch → Your Matches → Download.
Pick 2–3 lost rounds, not the whole match.
Watch from your own view, then from the killer's.
📋 Question checklist
Where was my crosshair before the enemy appeared? At head level or on the floor?
Did I stop before shooting?
Was a teammate nearby to trade?
Why did I peek — did I have information?
Did I use my utility or die with all of it?
How did the enemy know where I was? Was I making noise?
🎯 What to do with the result
Write down one main mistake and work on it for the next few matches.
Do not try to fix everything at once.
⚠️ Tip
Watch demos calmly, without beating yourself up. The goal is to find repeated mistakes, not to scold yourself for every death.
