The knife in CS2: when to pull it out and how to stab
What the knife is for in CS2: fast running, LMB and RMB attacks, backstabs and when a knife can win the round.
Every player has a knife and it costs nothing. It is mostly used for running, but sometimes it wins the round.
🏃 Fast running
With the knife out you run faster than with any weapon.
Pull it out during rotations and long walks.
Put the knife away and draw your weapon in advance, before entering a dangerous area.
🔪 Attacks
LMB — a quick weak slash, you can hit several times in a row.
RMB — a slow but strong stab.
An RMB stab in the back kills in one hit.
🎯 When the knife wins the round
The enemy is defusing the bomb and not looking back.
The enemy is facing away and cannot hear you — walk up.
The last enemy has no ammo and is reloading up close.
⚠️ Mistakes
Running with the knife straight into an enemy position.
Trying to knife an enemy who sees you — they will almost always shoot first.
💡 Inspecting
F inspects your weapon. It does nothing in the game — just do not do it at a dangerous moment.
