How to retake a site in CS2
A step-by-step CT retake plan: grouping up, utility, entry order, clearing angles and defusing.
A retake means taking a site back after Ts have planted. It is hard, but with good organization CTs win these rounds regularly.
📌 1. Group up
Do not run onto the site one by one. Wait for teammates in a safe spot.
Count the time: the bomb timer is 40 seconds, the defuse takes 5 or 10.
💨 2. Utility
Flashes before entering are a must.
Smokes on positions where Ts hold the bomb or on their approach.
HE or molotov into common post-plant corners.
🔧 3. Enter from different sides
If you can, hit the site from two directions at once. Ts struggle to hold two angles.
🎯 4. Defusing
If the Ts are dead or cannot see the bomb, start defusing immediately.
If one T is left, use a fake defuse to bait them.
Without a kit late on the timer, finish the enemies first, then defuse.
⚠️ When to save
With less than 10 seconds left, no kit and more Ts alive, save your weapon for the next round.
