If CS2 shows an unsupported GPU error or closes right away on an old PC, the cause is usually the graphics requirements.

📌 What the GPU needs

  • DirectX 11 and Shader Model 5.0 support.

  • At least 1 GB of VRAM.

  • An up-to-date driver from the manufacturer.

🔧 Check which GPU is used

  • Press Win + R, type dxdiag and open the "Display" tab.

  • If it lists integrated graphics (Intel UHD, etc.) while you have a dedicated card, assign CS2 to it in Settings → System → Display → Graphics.

  • Plug your monitor into the graphics card, not the motherboard.

🖥️ Update the driver

An outdated driver can report the wrong capabilities to the game. Install the latest version from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel.

🎯 If the card really is old

  • Try the -vulkan launch option — it sometimes helps on older AMD cards.

  • If the card does not support DirectX 11 at all, the only fix is replacing the GPU.

⚠️ Tip

Before buying a new GPU, check your power supply wattage and that it has the required power connectors.
