Crouch jump in CS2: how to do it right
What a crouch jump does in CS2, how to perform it and how to practice it to get onto high boxes.
A crouch jump lifts your feet higher than a normal jump. Without it, you cannot get onto many boxes and ledges.
📌 How it works
When you crouch in the air, your model tucks its legs. This lets you catch an obstacle that is higher than your normal jump height.
🔧 How to do it
Walk right up to the obstacle or run towards it.
Press jump.
Right after jumping, press and hold crouch (Ctrl).
Release crouch only once you are on top of the obstacle.
The most common mistake is pressing crouch too late, when you are already falling.
🎯 Where to practice
Start a local game with bots on any map and practice on boxes.
Movement training maps from the Steam Workshop also work well (search for "movement").
⚠️ Tips
Keep crouch on Ctrl or Shift so you can hold it with your little finger.
If you cannot make it, try a running jump instead of a standing one.
