autoexec.cfg is a file with commands that run every time the game starts. It is the best place to keep your sens, binds, radar and viewmodel so they never reset.

🔧 Where to create the file

Open the game folder:

Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

Quick way: Steam → Library → right-click CS2 → Manage → Browse local files, then open game\csgo\cfg.

📌 How to create it

  • Right-click → New → Text Document.

  • Name it autoexec.cfg. Make sure the extension is not still .txt — enable View → File name extensions in Explorer.

  • Open the file in Notepad and type your commands.

📄 Example

sensitivity 1.0
fps_max 0
cl_radar_scale 0.4
cl_hud_radar_scale 1.15
viewmodel_fov 68
bind "mwheeldown" "+jump"
host_writeconfig

host_writeconfig at the end saves all changes into the game settings.

🚀 Run on startup

In Steam: right-click CS2 → Properties → General → Launch Options and add:

+exec autoexec.cfg

⚠️ If it does not work

  • Check the extension — autoexec.cfg.txt is a common mistake.

  • Run exec autoexec in the console and look for errors.

  • Each command must be on its own line.
