If CS2 starts crashing, shows artifacts or loses FPS after a driver update, a clean reinstall of the driver helps.

🔧 Step 1. Preparation

  • Download the latest driver from the official NVIDIA or AMD website in advance.

  • Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from the developer's official site (Wagnardsoft).

  • Disconnect from the internet so Windows does not install an old driver by itself.

📌 Step 2. Remove the old driver

  • Boot Windows into Safe Mode.

  • Run DDU, choose device type GPU and your vendor.

  • Click "Clean and restart".

🖥️ Step 3. Install the new driver

  • After restarting, install the driver you downloaded.

  • In the NVIDIA installer choose "Custom" → "Perform a clean installation" if available.

  • Reconnect to the internet.

🎯 After installing

  • Set up NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin again — settings are reset.

  • The first CS2 launch may take longer: shaders are compiled again.

⚠️ Tip

Only download DDU and drivers from official sites. If the new driver performs worse, install the previous version the same way.
