How to bind a chat message in CS2

A chat bind in CS2 is about convenience and speed. Picture this: a tense round, no time to type, and your team needs to hear "Eco", "Rush B" or "Save" right now. One key press sends a ready message — it saves seconds and keeps you focused on the game.

In CS2 you can easily bind a command so that it is sent to chat with a single key press. This is done through the console:

📌 General bind format

Code

bind "KEY" "say TEXT"
  • say — message to all chat (seen by every player).

  • say_team — message to your teammates only.

  • "KEY" — the key the command is bound to (for example F1, KP_ENTER, MOUSE4).

  • "TEXT" — what will be posted in chat.

🔧 Examples

  • Bind to F1 to write "Rush B!" in all chat:

Code

bind "F1" "say Rush B!"
  • Bind to F2 to write "Go A!" to your team only:

Code

bind "F2" "say_team Go A!"
  • Bind to MOUSE4 to write "Eco round":

Code

bind "MOUSE4" "say_team Eco round"

⚠️ Tips

  • Don't spam — you can get muted for it.

  • Use binds for quick calls (for example "Rush", "Eco", "Save") so you don't get distracted by typing during the round.
